We live in interesting times. As we saw with the NC School Board’s Decision to preach a biased history painting America as the bad guys while failing to teach your children. We see a leftist bias in our news media, our classrooms, but pay attention and you’ll notice it in many of your children’s cartoons and movies. The only cure for this indoctrination is both a blessing and a curse. The saying used to be “it takes a village” unfortunately the leftists realized that and poisoned that village. Now to raise great conservative kids and instill those hardworking values conservative parents have to work harder than ever before. So without further to do here’s 5 books every conservative parent should read with their kids.
1. The Little House Books –

The Little House series is a classic group of true stories about Laura Ingalls Wilders life in the late 1800s. Wilder was born in 1867 and died in 1957, she lived from a time with no electricity to a time where The Andy Griffith show was playing on network television. She wrote her books with the help of here daughter Rose Wilder, considered one of the mothers of the Libertarian movement Rose Wilder believed that the rise of liberalism was due to ignorance of exactly how much work has to go into the life we take for granted today. These books are filled with descriptions of hard work, simple pleasures, and does a good job of teaching the true value of family. (get them here)
2. The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History

The PIG to American History is a book that actually helped me out quite a bit in school in college. It simply covers the other side of the story. And while I expected it to present only arguments that conservatives would buy I was pleasantly surprised to find an extremely well sourced read. (get it here)
3. Lord of the Flies

By The least PG on the list. But it’s a sobering read. Understanding human nature is the first step in understanding why the idea of utopia is dangerous and why we need to remain vigilant against human nature.(get it here)
4. The Rush Revere Collection
Rush Revere is a children’s book series made written by the one and only Rush Limbaugh. The story follows Rush Revere, a time traveling history teacher teaching his students the Constitution by getting up close and personal with the founding father’s and the events that founded our Republic.(get them here)
5. The Holy Bible

Last but certainly not least. The Bible is the very basis of almost all Paleo-Conservative thought. While not everyone adopts Christianity all conservatives adopt these Christian values in some fashion.
These books are not necessarily political, but I believe they create the values in us that lead to conservative thought. I know a lot of parents who want to turn off the technology and build quality time with their kids. I selected these books because I believe they are among the best for thoughtful discussion.
